Cannon Design Senior Principal John Syvertsen took part in a panel for the A Billion + Change initiative in Chicago on March 7. This growing national campaign seeks to mobilize billions of dollars in pro bono and skills-based volunteer services from corporate America by 2013. Recently, the campaign made a stop in Chicago, where John sat alongside other key players in this expanding movement, including the office of Mayor Rahm Emmanuel in Chicago and large corporations such as Allstate and Citigroup.
So far, 79 companies have pledged a total of $1.6 billion in skills-based volunteer services to nonprofit organizations across the nation. Cannon Design has joined this list of companies and is now an official signatory of the campaign—pledging the firm’s most valuable assets in the form of interior design and architectural planning services.
Sound familiar? This Billion + Change initiative aligns closely with the Open Hand Studio efforts of Cannon Design.
