A new science building our firm helped plan and design that is currently under construction at SUNY Oswego received nice coverage from a local TV station for its sustainable efforts. The brief video talks about the substantial geothermal installation we’re doing for the project and also references other design and sustainable features of the project. I encourage you to take a moment to watch the video.
SUNY Oswego commissioned us for this project to remedy the obsolescence of several of its previous science facilities. The effort includes the renovation of 70,000 sf of Piez Hall, demolition of Snygg Hall and construction of a 155,000 sf expansion. The new building will offer state-of-the-art under graduate classrooms, teaching and research laboratories, and interaction spaces for the college’s biology, chemistry, earth sciences, mathematics, physics, computer science and electrical engineering departments. The new facility also features a planetarium, meteorology observatory and greenhouse.
