Reduce patient fall injuries with foam floors? The British think so. A new study in England is testing if floors could be fitted with memory foam backing, typically used in sports facilities to soften falls in St. Mary’s Hospital. While curling up on memory foam sounds appealing, figuring out how the memory foam floor will be kept clean is quite another. The story doesn’t discuss the details of the flooring material. However you can check out the full story on BBC and a few more links on patient falls in the UK here. Picture from the BBC website.
