Cannon Design officially signed the China Accord from Architecture 2030. Firms who sign the accord commit to pursuing the following targets:
~ Cities, towns, urban developments, new buildings and major renovations shall be planned and designed to be carbon neutral, meaning they use no more energy and over the course of a year than they produce or important, from renewable energy sources.
~ When reaching carbon neutral is not feasible or practical, cities, towns, urban developments, new buildings and major renovations shall be designed to be highly efficient with the capability to produce or import all their energy from renewable energy sources in the future.
This commitment was introduced at the AIA Large Firm Roundtable as a new and important international initiative spearheaded by Ed Mazria of Architecture 2030. Those interested in learning more can find information here.
