Yesterday ArchDaily featured a new infographic related to the public interest design movement. There are lots of great people and programs that are mentioned, many of which are our friends through the Open Hand Studio. Click on the graphic for a closer look:
Specifically, the Chicago office is the Regional Design Advocate for Public Architecture’s 1% program. We also have established strong relationships with Architecture for Humanity, Design Corps, and Design for America. We have hosted conversations with MASS Design Group, Liz Ogbu of Ideo.org, John Cary of Public Interest Design, and Kimberly Dowdell of SEED network as part of our Open Hand Studio Forums. Finally, we have participated in many exciting events related to this topic including Structures for Inclusion and Design Access Summit. Overall, Cannon’s Open Hand Studio has made a significant strides to become thought leaders in this arena, and it is very exciting to see our place within the broad context of this movement.
