Today Carrie Busey Elementary School, in Savoy, Illinois, was awarded LEED Gold Certification. Some of the sustainable building features include: geothermal heating and cooling, solar thermal domestic hot water, demonstration photovoltaic installation, passive solar shading, solatubes, daylighting controls, and finishes utilizing recycled and rapidly renewable materials.
